Depuis toujours, la force du vent est autant source de fantasmes que de désolations. Si l’on sait désormais décrire avec précision les principes physiques qui la régissent, on a du mal à exploiter pleinement son potentiel, et plus encore à se prémunir de ses excès. Pourtant, la nature quant à elle, a su s’adapter. Les insectes, les oiseaux et bien évidemment les végétaux ont trouvé une véritable harmonie avec le vent, dont les scientifiques s’attèlent à observer les mécanismes. Le défi des chercheurs : étudier un phénomène totalement invisible et enfin maîtriser cette énergie colossale.
Since always, the force of the wind is as much source of fantasies as of desolations. If we can now accurately describe the physical principles that govern it, it is difficult to fully exploit its potential, and even more to guard against its excesses. Yet nature as for it, has been able to adapt. Insects, birds and of course plants have found a real harmony with the wind, which scientists are studying to observe the mechanisms.
